LOCAL FOOD TALK & FREE COMMUNITY MEAL – Sunday, 02 March


Veggies_01WHEN:   Sunday, March 2, Local Foods Talk at 6:00 pm, followed by meal at 6:30 pm

WHERE:   Blacksburg United Methodist Church, Whisner Building (enter from the parking lot at the corner of Lee and Penn Streets)

DETAILS:  Matt Nottingham, with the local CSA Good Food, Good People, will explain the Community Supported Agriculture concept, and Maureen McGonagle will tell us about what’s happening at the Blacksburg Farmers Market.

field cornFollowing the talk, the Sustainable Food Corps at VT will host a community meal prepared from gleaned food sourced from local farmers, restaurants and groceries.  Everyone is invited, so come and bring a friend.  No reservations are required.  The meal is free but donations are accepted.
